what's up doll collectors hobbyist fabs and besties I'm Toya an adult doll collector welcome to my miniverse y'all when I saw that brads were making the craft dolls you know the iconic movie from the 90s where the new girl meets a couple of witches I was like yes and then I saw the price It was $120 for Bonnie, Sarah, and Rochelle, and $70 for Nancy, but she did come with a second outfit. But then they sold out anyway, so the temptation was gone. Then I started thinking, why don't we just look through our doll clothes and create some The Craft-inspired looks? I've watched this movie so many times, and like three times in the last two days. And all we really need is like a school uniform vibe. I want to say this is a Barbie jacket and I got this pleated black skirt I think on Amazon a while back. It had a white shirt. Yeah, I think that's it right there. I also have this one that is sleeveless. This one was by Barbie. We might be able to put these together to make something that Nancy might wear. Now true, this skirt is not an exact match. It's a black pleated skirt and their pleated skirts were a blue and green plaid. Now I do have this blue plaid skirt. It's a Barbie skirt and it adds a little more color to this look. But at the beginning of the movie, Sarah did have on a black skirt when she was moving into her house, paired with a striped shirt and a black cardigan, which I don't think I have. We could probably use this black shirt from Amazon and just turn it around and make a few changes. Let's remove the velcro by cutting the thread. Then we could just fold over and hem the sides. However, this is a pretty thick collar because it's a turtleneck, so I'm going to remove that too. Okay, now it looks like a cardigan. Let'S take the collar that we cut off and open it up. Cut it down the center so the two ends together. To make one long strip, take that new center seam, place it on the center of the back of the neck, lining up those raw edges, sew a straight stitch near the edge, then flip it over to the other side, and sew a top stitch to give our cardigan a finished edge. Sorry, that might have been difficult to see since this is a dark color. But now I think we can put together this outfit. We need some black stockings and a pair of black shoes. Let's use the Tyla doll from He-Man for our Sarah-inspired look, even though Sarah's eyes are green and her eyes are blue. But we're taking a few artistic liberties to create this look. Let's pull some of her hair back and hold it with some tiny clips to try to recreate the look from the beginning of the movie. Sorry about any spoilers if you haven't seen it, But now we need a snake. Okay, so I changed the lighting a little, added a few more boxes, and a cobra. Which is not movie accurate, but I think it makes a pretty cool photo. And kind of perfect for a Halloween photo shoot. I like this look, it was easy to do. But she does need a uniform for school. So let's try to make this skirt. I don't have fabric that is an exact match for the skirt. but I do have two pieces of this green plaid. They are 10 inch squares so I might have to sew pieces together to get the length that I want. This is the plan. I made a quick pattern. We need to cut two rectangles for the skirt. One on a fold at seven and a quarter by two and three eighths. When we unfold it it will be a rectangle that is 14 and a half inches long. Then for the waistband I'm cutting a five by one inch rectangle. So I'm gonna sew my scraps together because I know I need them to be longer. Using a sewing machine and I went over my edges with a zigzag stitch. Then I draw my rectangles, cut them out, take the strip for the bottom of the skirt, zigzag-stitch the bottom edge, fold it over and iron it, sew a straight line to hem it, then bring over the waistband. Lay it good side to good side onto the skirt. Match it up with the end and put a pin about a half an inch from the edge. Then repeat with the other end. So we've marked off about a half inch on both ends. Now we can begin folding the fabric back and forth making small pleats using pins to secure them and continue until the skirt is pleated. Sew a line a fourth of an inch from the edge connecting the skirt to the waistband. Now let's flip the waist band over the edge and sew a line on top right at the edge. Fold over the ends, cut a strip of velcro and sew the pieces onto the ends to make a pleated skirt that is similar to the one we bought on Amazon but now it's a dark plaid. Let's make a few more to get four so the dolls can dress up for Halloween. Brooklyn is going to dress up as Rochelle. I have two of these Brooklyns so I'm just going to remove the blue eyeshadow from underneath on one. I'm using a paintbrush and nail polish remover to carefully brush it away. I toned down her lipstick with watered-down brown paint and added some to her eyes. Let's take a white button-up shirt. This one came in the fashion pack with the pleated skirts on Amazon, but we're gonna pair it with our new pleated skirt. Let' s add some loops of black ribbon onto the waistband. I put the skirt on inside out and glued it on. Then I glued another piece of ribbon looped through it and we're gonna go over her shoulder and glue it in the back to give her suspenders let's give her tall black socks then pick out a Barbie necklace or two and maybe some earrings to make her the craft Halloween costume for a Bonnie inspired look let's use this bodysuit from Cher paired with the skirt on a doll with brown hair take a pair of black leggings and tie them around her waist to look like a shirt or sweater. Give her high socks, pull some of her hair back and secure it with a clip. Add a necklace to recreate Bonnie's new look. Let's swap Sarah's striped shirt for a Barbie graphic tee. Then put her cardigan back on because I don't have a vest and add a few necklaces for one of her inspired looks or we can go with a turtleneck and her cardigan, high socks, and let's give her a book for another inspired outfit. For Nancy, I was thinking about going with this faux leather jacket. It's a Barbie jacket, but I don't remember where I got it. I want to say it was an advent calendar. We need a shirt that ties in the front. Let's try this Barbie style shirt. And for the doll, let's go with this Barbie looks doll with black hair. Her hair is not movie accurate, but since this is just a Halloween costume, I'm not gonna cut it. But I am painting her lavender eyes blue, making her lipstick a little darker, and I added some watered-down black paint to her lavender eyeshadow. Let's give her some earrings, put on the jacket, necklaces and a choker, and a pair of sunglasses, then tall boots or socks for a Nancy-inspired look. so the dolls can walk the hall in the craft-inspired Halloween costumes that we were able to make using stuff we already had. I like that we made matching skirts and were ableto make outfits from the many looks in the movie. It would have been nice if our Nancy doll had a longer jacket, but this will do for now. And we can take a few red glue sticks, cut them into smaller pieces, use a hot glue gun to melt the top, add a small piece of black thread or wire, add a tiny drop of hot glue on the end and pull it, then trim it and touch it with a little gold paint to make a candle. Let's add the dolls and the candles to the room. Place another doll on their hands to make it look like she's floating. If your doll's head is a little heavy you could put a spool of of thread under her hair for support to make another inspired scene from the movie this turned out pretty good these inspired outfits were pretty easy to make and we can probably use them all year long thank you for joining us like comment share and subscribe don't forget to ring the bell and follow us on instagram and youtube at my froggy stuff and bella of my frogby stuff on instagram and we will see you next time.
